Area runners are invited to Chardon’s first half marathon this May, which will raise money for the Chardon Living Memorial Park. The event will also include a 5K.
The 13.1-mile course will be run completely within the Chardon community and on the Geauga Park District bike trail, starting and finishing at Chardon High School, according to a news release.

The Chardon Living Memorial Park campaign just kicked into high gear.
Park proponents announced plans for a half-marathon that could raise $100,000 toward the project and attract 700 runners to the city.
The First Annual Run for Chardon Half Marathon and 5K is scheduled for May 1.

Chardon City Council on April 9 approved an ordinance authorizing an agreement with Chardon Tomorrow permitting the construction of the Chardon Living Memorial Park on municipal land.
The project has been started.
